The five sessions will provide support for those interested in their own personal leadership development both within ASMS and other sites within DECD. We would also like this group to contribute to the ASMS concept of contributive leadership.

The group will work through 5 nominated leadership focuses–  the personal, interpersonal, professional learning, school management systems and the transformative dimensions of leadership. These are connected to the standard but have a more developmental approach.

Each session will consider this one focus a for up to 2 hours with refreshments and food provided. The sessions will act as forums for group members to talk about leadership for themselves and as a group within ASMS. It will be an opportunity to work across the school and to have professional discussions with a wide range of staff. You will also have the opportunity to demonstrate some contributive leadership.

Expectations:

  • The expectations from participants will a commitment for attendance for all 5 sessions and participation in a whole staff presentation on contributive leadership at the end of year ASMS staff conference.
  • Attendees will be asked to work collaboratively in each session and to consider the post session resources and readings that emerge. Some of the development will be undertaken between sessions with participants asked to observe or think about the focus for ASMS.
