We are excited to announce that the Adelaide Learning Frontiers Network has secured internationally renowned education speaker Ian Gilbert as our facilitator for our final day of working together as a network of schools.
Ian is an award winning author and leading educational speaker, a man who the IB magazine named as one of its top 15 education visionaries. He established “Independent Thinking” in 1994 as a platform for leading practitioners to show their work in bringing the best out of all children. Currently based in Rotterdam, Ian has lived and worked in the UK, South America, and the Middle East and so has a special perspective on classrooms and systems. What works and what definitely doesn’t.
You can learn more about Ian Gilbert’s work here: http://www.independentthinking.co.uk and TED Talk
This will be the last for the Adelaide Learning Frontiers Network as we feel it has run its course as a stand-alone enterprise given time and other demands on leaders and teachers. We want this to be celebratory given the period we have worked together as well as the importance of the Network’s purpose in working together to improve engagement of students in their learning.
Who can be involved:
Adelaide Learning Frontiers Network schools are welcome to bring up to 5 participants per school at no cost (other than covering for their teacher release) and may invite colleagues (Partnership or others) at a cost of $100/person.
What to prepare to share:
Each Adelaide Learning Frontiers Network school is requested to prepare an A3 poster for the meeting, celebrating how you have been developing an education worth having. Reference should be made to how you have addressed one or more of the Learning Frontiers Design Principles for engagement: Co-created; Integrated; Personal; Connected to better engage students in learning.
